Settling into the Skies: Regular Routes and New Adventures
It's been quite a while since my last blog update, largely because flying has settled into a comfortable routine—trip after trip, navigating familiar routes to LaGuardia, DCA, Nashville, JFK, and more. I'm finding my stride, learning invaluable insights from different captains along the way. Each flight adds another layer of confidence, and I take every opportunity to hand-fly the plane and request additional legs to build my experience.
One of the best parts of this job is the passengers. Receiving their gratitude when we safely reach our destination, or seeing young kids excitedly sharing their dreams of becoming a pilot, brings genuine joy and fulfillment. Recently, a passenger even came up specifically to compliment my landing—moments like that reinforce why I love what I do.
I've also been lucky with scheduling. June offered just two weeks of reserve, with the rest filled by actively picked-up trips. July is even better, with a secured line allowing some schedule flexibility. I've managed to maximize my days off and snag high-credit trips, enhancing my work-life balance significantly.
The camaraderie has been fantastic. Every crew I've joined has been welcoming and supportive, and the experienced check airmen I've spoken with have generously shared their knowledge, patiently answering my questions and offering invaluable wisdom.

Even with familiarity setting in, there are plenty of "firsts"—first times flying certain approaches, exploring new airports, and staying in different hotels. Each brings its own excitement and opportunities to learn something new.
Oh, and a fun highlight: today we flew one of our special company livery planes. Though it had a few quirks, the unique paint job made the flight memorable.

Looking forward to more skies to explore, passengers to meet, and experiences to share!
